DUAL TEAM REGISTRATION

Sniper Wrestling Academy builds dual teams for different tournaments throughout the year. Duals are an awesome way to get mat time and provide an entirely different experience for your child. Children learn to work in a fun team environment and under different coaches, which is a very important step in their development. The team atmosphere forces them to rebound quickly after losses and unlike individual tournaments, they get guaranteed mat time. Sniper Wrestling Academy will never waste its time or money (or yours) entering dual tournaments where there are not at least 5 guaranteed team duals. Sometimes we build just one team, other times we build multiple teams. Due to the amount of time and effort required to do this, we have developed an automated system to streamline the process. Payment is due at registration and is non-refundable unless we fail to get your child on a team. If this happens, we will notify you no later than 2 weeks before the tournament, and promptly refund your payment. Tournaments requiring extensive travel planning (such as booking flights) will be handled differently and on a case-by-case basis. We make no guarantee as to which team your child will be placed on as there are a variety of factors used for team selection including time of registration, skill level, past team experience, etc. It is a very time-consuming process to build these teams. By registering your child for a Sniper dual team, you must understand just being on a team is a great experience for your child and we do our best to not only place your child on a team, but also build the most competitive teams possible. We often need help with team coaches and table workers. Please indicate your willingness to help when registering your child. If you are selected for either, you will receive free admission and a mat side wristband to the event.

NOTE: to coach a Sniper sponsored dual team, you must have a USA Wrestling coaches card.

Step by Step Guide:

01 | Read and agree to abide by the following Sniper Wrestling Academy rules:

1. Sportsmanship is priority number one for being on a Sniper Wrestling Academy dual team. No unsportsmanlike conduct will be tolerated from any child. Wrestlers will win with humility and lose with grace. 

2. Team members will be engaged in each dual 100% of the time, cheering their teammates on when not wrestling. At no point will any child leave the team area to visit with family or friends while the team is wrestling a dual. 

3. Parents are strongly encouraged to cheer the team on and do so loudly! However, let the coaches do the coaching. Never belittle your child. Never engage with a referee (trust us, they remember the teams that are difficult). And last, but certainly not least, never engage with an unruly parent from another team. We must be above that nonsense as it accomplishes nothing other than embarrassing yourself, your child, and team. Let the “JV” parents be fools, by themselves. 

02 | Understand and agree to follow the important information for each dual tournament:

1. Tournament day/time/location.

2. Weigh in time (often a day before the tournament).

3. Age parameters.

4. Weight classes.

5. Team fee.

6. Gear fee, if applicable.

03 | Register your child for the tournament you wish them to participate in:

1. Age-appropriate division.

2. Weight class desired.

3. 2nd choice weight (optional). This makes building good teams much easier when kids are willing to move up or down from their desired weight class. This can be beneficial to the child as well if they are wrestling individuals as it gives them the opportunity to see different competitors. 

4. Pay the team fee. 

5. Pay to purchase the gear package, if required. This will be explained for each tournament.
